The two-story building, which was adjacent to the marina on the 6500 block of Wells Burnett Road not far from Twin Points Park, caught fire at about 2:30 p.m.

Fire officials said the blaze was out around 5:10 p.m., but was still smoldering. Crews were expected to be on the scene for a few more hours.

From Texas Sky Ranger it was clear the building was totally consumed, having been burned down to the foundation.

The restaurant was once known as Boondocks, then later it was renamed the Twisted Oar.

No injuries have been reported, though firefighters are challenged with not only battling the flames but also the triple-digit heat as they work to keep the fire from spreading to nearby boats at the marina.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No other property, including nearby boats, were damaged.
