Fire Consumes Self Storage Facility

Firefighters had to use special saws to cut through the metal doors of a Dallas storage facility Thursday morning and put out a serious fire.

Dozens of firefighters responded to the blaze at the DFW Self Storage facility on Shady Trail Lane.

A total of seven storage units caught fire. Those units had construction materials inside, including paint thinner and other chemicals.

Dallas Storm Water crews responded to the scene as well to monitor the water runoff. There was no abatement necessary.

The storage facility is in a heavily industrial area. No one was injured.

Firefighters are still trying to figure out what started the fire.
