Female Robber Preys on Elderly Grocery Shoppers, Police Say

Investigators say woman has targeted at least five victims

Police said a female robber is preying on elderly people in Fort Worth.

Fort Worth police said the woman has targeted at least five elderly victims, including a 92-year old man two weeks ago near Texas Christian University.

Police said the woman targets shoppers at grocery stores.

"Usually at grocery stores, and she will pick a person out, and she will watch them," Lt. Paul Henderson said. "She will follow them out of the parking lot and follow them to their house."

A 92-year-old Fort Worth resident who did want to be identified said she believes she was followed home from a nearby grocery store.

The victim said she saw the woman sneak into her garage as she pulled her car in.

"I got out of my car, and as I walked around my car, there this girl was," she said.

The victim said the woman got rough with her and forced her to lie on the floor while the robber searched for money and credit cards.

"She searched my pockets and found some money, and the other pocket, she found my credit card in," she said.

The victim said the woman had used the credit card at a nearby grocery store within 20 minutes.

The woman is described as a black woman between 30 and 35 years old, standing about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing about 135 pounds.
