Fans Stand Behind TCU Despite Loss

Frogs lose first home game with Big XII opponent

A rough week for Texas Christian University's football team continued on Saturday.

First, came the arrest of quarterback Casey Pachall for suspicion of driving while under the influence. He was suspended indefinitely and did not suit up for the game.

Then, the team's first home game resulted in a loss. Final Score: Iowa State 37, TCU 23. Backup quarter backup Trevone Boykin threw three interceptions. TCU's 12-game winning streak ended.

It was a somber mood as fans exited the stadium.  Some fans were convinced that if Pachall had played, it would have been a different game. But they still stood behind Boykin.

"It's alright," TCU fan Monica Fields said. "I'm alright. I'm still supporting Boykin. We're going to be alright. We're a Horn Frog family."

"If they could get the bugs out of Boykin, I think he could do well," Donnie Kirk said.

"I think it's unfortunate what happened to Pachall," another fan said. "I'm looking forward to having him back on the field making plays. He makes things happen."

TCU will take on Baylor University in Waco on Saturday, October 13.
