FBI Search for Bank Robber in Mesh Mask

The FBI is trying to catch a robber who has hit as many as nine banks in Dallas County.

The man dubbed the "Mesh Mask Bandit" has robbed three banks this week alone.

An FBI spokeswoman declined an on-camera interview, but in a release, the FBI said the man wears a dark, mesh-like mask that covers his face.

In photos released by the FBI, the man can be seen wearing a hat and gloves.

An investigator familiar with the case said the Mesh Mask Bandit has become bolder in recent robberies. In the last robbery, he walked into the bank pointing the gun and ordered people to get on the ground.

The FBI said the man might have received chemical burns or might have red dye marks from a dye pack inserted in the money of a Jan. 31 bank robbery.
