FBI: Longhorn Bandit Arrested

Man in Houston was accused of holding up five banks last year

A Houston man has been accused of holding up five banks in robberies committed last year by a person wearing a Texas Longhorns cap.

The FBI on Saturday announced the arrest of 31-year-old Willy Cuevas. An FBI statement says Cuevas is suspected of being the so-called "Longhorn Bandit" and targeting Chase bank branches.

Investigators say Cuevas, who was arrested Tuesday at his home, faces five counts of felony bank robbery.

Two holdups happened in Houston. The other three robberies were in Cypress. Street addresses provided by the FBI indicate one of the banks was held up twice, in January 2014 and again last November.

The FBI on Saturday didn't immediately provide custody or attorney information for Cuevas. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison per count.
