Ex-Terminix Employee Admits Stealing Jewelry

Fort Worth man faces 20 years in prison

A former employee of the pest control company Terminix charged with stealing jewelry from customers’ homes has pleaded guilty.

Hector Garcia Orozco, 44, of Fort Worth, faces up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to a charge of theft between $100,000 and $200,000.

Among the alleged victims was an 81-year-old woman whose wedding ring was stolen just weeks before her husband died.

In a statement after his arrest, Terminix said the actions of its former employee are “inexcusable and are in no way a reflection of the values and standards of our company.”

Orozco's sentencing is set for March 31.
