Ex-Dallas School Official Sentenced To 11 Years

A federal judge has sentenced the former technology chief for the Dallas public school district to 11 years in prison for bribery and money laundering.

Ruben B. Bohuchot was sentenced Wednesday for his role in a bribery and money-laundering scheme. Bohuchot was convicted of taking kickbacks and bribes in exchange for steering millions of dollars worth of contracts to a Houston technology company.

Bohuchot must report to prison in January. The judge recommended he serve his time in a medical facility because of unspecified health problems. But the ultimate decision will be up to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.

Frankie Logyang Wong, the owner of Micro Systems Engineering Inc., is scheduled for sentencing Thursday. He was convicted of multiple counts of bribery and money laundering in the case.
