The downturn in the economy is now hitting the King Tut exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art.
The DMA expected the exhibit to draw about 1 million people before the show closes on May 17. The exhibit has been open for about three months and is very far behind schedule in regard to attendance with only 270,000 having shown up -- and 90,000 of those were school children.
Despite the slow start, DMA officials are confident the exhibit will pull between 800,000 and 1 million visitors while in North Texas -- keeping it on par with other major cities like Chicago and Los Angeles who have also hosted the show.
