East Texas School Bus Burns, Suspicious Fire

Fire has destroyed an East Texas school bus that was parked for the weekend and investigators questioned two men who could face arson charges.

Sulphur Springs Fire Department Chief Eric Hill says a neighbor noticed the fire Sunday night outside in the school district bus yard and summoned help. Hill says the bus was destroyed and investigators blame arson. Nobody was hurt.

Hill says two suspects were caught after authorities also responded to several small trash and brush fires Sunday night. Police did not immediately provide information on possible charges against the men.

An official with the Sulphur Springs Independent School District says the 60-passenger bus was a standby vehicle not used on a daily basis. No damage estimate was provided.

Sulphur Springs is 70 miles northeast of Dallas.
