Drugs Arrests Made Near Elementary School in The Colony

Four people living across the street from an elementary school were arrested Wednesday on drug-related charges in The Colony.

Police executed a narcotics search warrant Wednesday morning at house in the 4900 block of Arbor Glen Road. Camey Elementary School is across the street from the home.

Lt. Darren Brockway said investigators found and seized various narcotics and paraphernalia inside the home. Investigators have evidence that the narcotics were being bought, sold and consumed at the house, he said.

The search warrant and investigation stemmed from anonymous tips to the department, Brockway said.

Carl Hall Jr., 51; Laura Hall, 44; and Davey Cooper, 19; were arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, penalty group one, and possession of marijuana. Trey Hall, 17, was arrested on two counts of delivery of marijuana under five pounds and possession of marijuana.

Police also arrested Lorenzo Marquez, 18, on two outstanding warrants from Lake Dallas.

All five were booked into The Colony Jail. Because the offenses were so close to a school, the drug-related charges were raised one degree for being in a state-mandated drug-free zone.
