A downtown car crash created some commotion at The Dallas Morning News on Tuesday night when a driver, swerving to avoid a red-light runner, knocked out a streetlight that shattered a newsroom window on its way down.
A witness said a vehicle ran through the red light in the 1900 block of Commerce Street shortly before 10 p.m. An SUV heading north on South Harwood Street swerved to avoid the vehicle and struck the light before coming to rest on the sidewalk.
