A driver was hospitalized after crashing his vehicle under a guardrail early Thursday morning in Haltom City, police said.
Police believe he was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control and crashed about 1:45 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 820 near U.S. Highway 377.
Police and fire officials found a Corvette with heavy damage. The guardrail was across the drivers compartment horizontally, but no driver was found, police said.
Police found the driver had walked away from the scene for almost 2 miles.
He was transported in serious condition, police said.
The lanes have since been reopened and crews are working to replace the guardrail.
