Twelve Vehicles Pile-Up on Irving Freeway

A busy Irving freeway was the scene for a 12 vehicle pile-up early Monday morning.

The rain-slicked westbound lanes of state Highway 183 were closed for over two hours as crews removed damaged vehicles from the roadway.

Two people were injured in the crash. One female was transported by ambulance and is believed to be the only injury serious enough to require transport.

A driver that spoke to NBC 5 was seen with a bleeding front lip from hitting his face during the crash.

NBC 5's Keaton Fox shot the following Vine of the clean-up.

Investigators did not speak about the cause of the crash, but did say the multi-vehicle pile-up was a chain reaction event with multiple crashes.

Texas Department of Transportation crews were requested at the scene to help with the closure of westbound lanes and to help contain and clean vehicle fluids that spilled onto the roadway.

NBC 5's Keaton Fox contributed to this report.
