Displaced Cowtown Runners Invited to Rock ‘n' Roll Half Marathon

Cowtown runners may get a second chance to run this spring

With the Cowtown marathon, ultra-marathon, 10K and 5K canceled due to severe weather conditions, registered runners may have a second chance.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series and Humana have made free entries available for displaced Cowtown entrants to run the Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll Dallas Half Marathon the weekend of March 20-22.

"The cancellation of The Cowtown Marathon is devastating news for both runners and race organizers,” said Alan Culpepper, Vice President of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series. “We know firsthand the level of training and planning that goes into an event for runners and race organizers."

Cowtown entrants in the cancelled events can email proof of registration with the subject line "Cowtown Transfer" to receive a complimentary entry. Officials said they will guarantee spots for the first 200 transfers. Additional entries will be made available subject to capaticty.

It is the 6th annual marathon and will begin at Lamar Street and Young Street, finishing at the American Airlines Center. Every mile of the course will have the music of live, local bands.

To register for the race, check the Run Rock 'n' Roll website for more information.
