Teen's Walker Stolen from His Fort Worth Front Porch

A Fort Worth family is asking for help to find the man who stole their son's walker right off the front porch. It was all caught on surveillance camera and the family is hoping someone will recognize the man in the video.

The walker belonged to David Burgos, a 15-year-old with a passion for baseball and the Texas Rangers. He has cerebral palsy and depends on his walker to get around.

When he accidentally left it out overnight Wednesday, a man walked up and took it at about 3 a.m.

This was no ordinary walker. It was custom-made for David and cost approximately around $3,100.

It will be difficult to replace, but his mom, Nina Burgos, says that's not even the upsetting part.

"It's not so much that they stole the walker," Mrs. Burgos said. "It's they robbed him of the only way he can walk. That was the most horrible thing. As soon as he saw it, he laid on my bed and he put his hand on his forehead and he just started bawling and he said now I'm not going to get to go anywhere."

David's 11-year-old sister Kristina added, "If you see a walker, why would you take it? Because you know that somebody really needs it."

The man is also seen on video stealing a flagpole from David’s grandmother’s house down the street, with an American flag and a US Army flag attached to it.

"I hope someone recognizes the person, turns him in and brings him to justice because he should pay for what he did," said Mrs. Burgos.

Investigators believe the man may have been hunting for scrap metal.
