Despite Weather, Visitors Still Head to Stock Show

Big numbers for the Stock Show

Despite the weather, North Texans and out of town visitors still headed to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.

An estimated 930,000 people attended the Stock Show this year, which is just slighly higher than last year.  Officials with the event point out the show was one day shorter this year and everyone was dealing with at least three days of bad weather.

According to the Star-Telegram, the show did set a single-day record for attendance on January 29, when 154,000 people showed up.

Buyers at the Sale of Champions spent almost $3 million on 286 head of livestock. Those figures included the Grand Champion Steer which sold for $185,000.
