Denton Police Say Shooting Was Likely Not Random Attack

Police say the investigation into a shooting Monday reveals it was neither a random attack nor a drive-by shooting, as originally reported.[[439106173, R]]

The shooting happened at about 6:40 p.m. near the intersection of North Bell Avenue and Mingo Road.

Investigators say when they arrived, they found a car that had crashed through a fence. They say the 26-year-old male driver was shot twice.

Police said they now believe the victim and gunman had previous interactions and most likely knew each other.

The gunshot victim remained in the hospital Tuesday, and police said it appears his injuries are not life threatening.
