Deer hunting season kicks into full gear this weekend across North Texas.
Deer hunters are taking aim and supply stores across North Texas as white-tailed deer hunting season approaches.
The season kicks off this weekend in most North Texas counties.
It's a Texas tradition and a big money maker for hunting supply stores like Bass Pro Shops.
"I easily spent $500 to $1000 on new stuff," John Lee said. "I've been hunting since I was about eight years old."
Hunters like Lee have been flooding the store all week, getting licenses, ammo and other supplies.
Deer hunting generates about $1 billion in retail sales each year.
"There's just something about it that gets in you and you enjoy it," Lee said.
