Thanksgiving

Dec. 1 Could Be DFW Airport's Busiest Day Ever

In 2018, DFW Airport's busiest day was the Friday before Thanksgiving

The rush to get home after this year's Thanksgiving holiday could make Dec. 1 the busiest travel day in the history of DFW International Airport and cause big lines at Dallas Love Field.

DFW International Airport expects more than 275,000 passengers on 2,162 planes to travel in, out or through the nation's fourth-busiest airport on the Sunday following Thanksgiving, marking the end of a holiday travel week that is set to break records, according to airport figures provided by airlines.

That would be 11% more passengers than the comparable day in 2018. It would also outpace any day in the busy summer travel season, which broke passenger records again this year.
