DeSoto police nabbed a suspected "porch pirate" Thursday morning, thanks to the help of home surveillance video and photos.

Christopher Charles Anderson Jr., was arrested at his home at about 9 a.m. and charged with theft of property between $750 and $2,500.

DeSoto police said Anderson was involved in at least 10 instances of theft where delivered packages were taken from front porches in the DeSoto area.

Upset citizens supplied a number of leads in the cases, in some cases including photos and videos of the thefts.

DeSoto police said they recovered various stolen items from Anderson's vehicle. Much of that property has been returned, but some has yet to be claimed.

Officials said they are attempting to identify the property's rightful owners and ask that anyone missing a package scheduled for recent delivery should contact the Criminal Investigations Division at 469-658-3050.
