April 20 is the date set for completion of the historic 1895 Tarrant County Courthouse clock tower’s makeover.
The clock tower is little more than a skeletal, steel shell as construction crews restore the deteriorating top part of the tower.
“The drip from a dozen decades of rain, hail and ice had slowly eaten away at the tower's masonry, windows, flooring and steel framework, necessitating a makeover,” said county facilities manager David Phillips to the Star Telegram.
The project was originally pegged at $5 million but is expected to come in $500,000, according to Phillips.
