Dangerous Chase Winds Through Yards

Two arrested after chase in Fort Worth

Two men were arrested by Fort Worth police early Monday after apparently trying to break into a Radio Shack store and then leading police on a chase.

Fort Worth police said a witness saw the men by the store on North Main Street and NW 28th Street and called police. Before officers could arrive the men set off the alarm and ran.

A responding officer spotted their vehicle and gave chase. During the pursuit, the men, driving a stolen car, drove through a woman's front yard and took out her side fence on Portland Street.

The men then exited the vehicle on Carver Avenue, as it was moving. The vehicle then hit a parked car in a driveway, otherwise it may have run into another home.

Police said one man was taken into custody by the vehicle while the second man was found inside a nearby house.

The stolen car narrowly missed other homes and left skid marks up and down the street.

One witness, Jessie George, said it was like something out of a movie as the car came winding through a backyard near homes and a clothes line.

"They could of hurt somebody today. Somebody could have been really hurt," George said.

Fort Worth police have not yet released the names of the men or what charges they will face.
