Dallas Warehouse Fire Closes Roads

A warehouse fire that burned in Dallas closed two roads early Wednesday morning.

Glenfield Avenue and both directions of Westmoreland Road south of Illinois Avenue were closed while fire crews battled the blaze.

The fire grew to three alarms around 7:40 a.m. in the warehouse described by Dallas Fire-Rescue as an "old manufacturing plant."

Jason Evans with Dallas Fire-Rescue said firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and save about three-fourths of the building that's valued at over a million dollars.

Evans said the fire started on the second floor of the two-story vacant building and caused significant damage to the roof.

There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
