Dallas Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

Army Staff Sgt. Omar Aceves was on his third tour in the Middle East when he was killed by a roadside bomb.

"I just keep saying you know we didn't have that long," said his wife of five years, Leticia. "I would tell him he's my love, he's my best friend, he was everything."

Now Leticia has to tell their six children why their father isn't coming home. "I keep trying to look at it like what would he do, what would he say," said Leticia.

"I was always used to hearing say everything would be okay, now I can't hear it," said Leticia.

SSgt. Aceves had been awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his efforts in Iraq, and last August he deployed for Afghanistan. He will be buried Friday at the DFW National Cemetery.
