Dallas Police Warn About Recent Driveway Robberies

Police believe a series of driveway robberies in east Dallas may involve more than one suspect.

Dallas police said the areas of concern are between Gaston Avenue, Abrams Road, Northwest Highway and Easton Road.

Police said that the suspect targets women between the ages of 50 and 60. All robberies share similarities, but detectives said there may be more than one person robbing these women.

Daisy Joe said she was attacked and robbed at knifepoint only a few days ago in the driveway of the home she has lived in for 45 years.

Joe said her purse and wallet were stolen, along with her sense of safety.

"I feel like he's taken my life," Joe said. "He's violated me. He's taken everything from me."

"I believe it to be a strategy," said Maj. Jeff Cotner with the Dallas Police Department "There's a vulnerability of the individuals that are being targeted are vulnerable because they've become complacent. They're home."

A man was arrested on Tuesday in connection to the robberies, but have not ruled out multiple suspects.

Police are asking women to say on alert and to pay attention to their surroundings. They want anyone who does not feel safe to call 911.

NBC 5's Randy McIIwain and Amanda Guerra contributed to this report.
