Dallas Police Search for Armed Robbery Suspect

Dallas police are searching for a suspect in connection to the armed robbery of an auto parts store on Tuesday.

Cedric Jones and his brother, Damien, are suspected of robbing an AutoZone on Plano Road, police said.

Police believe the brothers are part of the “Bulls cap robbers,” known to wear Chicago Bulls hats while they commit crimes.

Authorities believe the group is behind more than 20 robberies that have occurred in the last couple of months - many of which have been AutoZone stores.

Police tried to catch the pair on Tuesday night after they robbed the Plano Road store. During the robbery, the Dallas Police Department said the brothers shot at officers, hitting their squad cars during the gunfire.

No officers were injured during the shooting.

Police were able to arrest Damien Jones who is now being held on a $1 million bond for aggravated assault of a public servant.

Authorities are still searching for Cedric Jones.

Crimestoppers is offering $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

“The public should be concerned that Cedric is still out there, he’s been armed with a long rifle, he’s demonstrated violence and fired at a Dallas police officer,” said Maj. Jeff Cotner with the Dallas Police Department.
