Dallas Police Investigate Killings of Two People

Man and woman found dead inside apartment

The crime scene tape is gone and police have left the scene but neighbors of the two murder victims are now left trying to figure out what happened early Saturday morning.

Around 5:30 a/.m. Dallas police arrived to the Timberlodge apartments at 11600 Audelia Road in Northeast Dallas, only to find two people dead inside their apartment, both died from gunshot wounds.

On Saturday evening, Dallas Police identified the victims as Sharletha Carey, 28 and Ronnie Carey, 32.

Neighbor Teena Bishop lives across the hall from the two victims. She found out about the murder when her husband came home from work later that morning,

"At 10:30, that's when I heard two people upstairs got shot," said Bishop.

Bishop said Carey was trying to better herself in her career.

"She was a medical student, worked in the medical field or something, she was always in scrubs." said Bishop. "You know I think she was getting a better education than what she had, moving up in her field."

While police are investigating the crime, neighbors are on alert.  Bishop says she and her family hope to move to another complex.

"I'm nervous I'm terrified I live back here, my husband works nights and I'm here by myself with my granddaughter, so yeah I'm very nervous."

Police have no suspects at this time.
