Dallas Police Investigate 2 Deadly Shootings Blocks Apart

A man has died after a shooting Friday afternoon in southeast Dallas, police say, and investigators are working to determine whether the shooting is connected to another one nearby.

Officers were called just before 1 p.m. to the intersection of Lenway Street and South Malcolm X Boulevard, where the man was found with a gunshot wound.

The man, whose identity has not been released, was transported to Baylor University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

On Thursday, 19-year-old Vincent Jeffcoat was shot and killed by a masked gunman on his front porch in the 2700 block of Lenway Street, police said.

The man who pulled the trigger in that shooting ran away before he could be captured, police said.
