A prominent North Texas pastor is joining the movement to boycott the upcoming NFL season, and he wants fans here to do the same.
Freddy Haynes is the pastor at Friendship West Baptist Church. He's also a huge Dallas Cowboys fan.
But this season, he says he will not be attending or watching any NFL games because of how he says Colin Kaepernick is being treated by the NFL owners.
Kaepernick, a former quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, was the first player to take a knee during the national anthem last season to protest racial injustice.
Despite leading his team to a Super Bowl in 2013, Kaepernick is still without a team for the upcoming season.
Haynes says at least one NFL owner should have the bravery to sign Kaepernick, despite the controversy.
He feels the NFL is putting profits over principles.

"I'm going to go through withdrawals when the NFL season starts, but as far as I'm concerned, as much as I love the Cowboys, I'm in love with justice. And as far as I'm concerned, justice is not taking place here," Haynes said.
Haynes is asking fans who support Kaepernick to not watch or attend any NFL games this season.
He's also asking them to not buy any NFL merchandise or participate in fantasy leagues.
As for the Cowboys, so far, no members of "America's Team" have made a public show of protest during the national anthem, and owner Jerry Jones says he likes it that way.
"I feel very strongly that everyone should save that moment for the recognition of the flag in a positive way, so I like the way the Cowboys do it," Jones said during an interview on 105.3 The Fan.
Eleven players for the Cleveland Browns knelt before Sunday night's game against the New York Giants. It is the largest demonstration this preseason.
