Dallas One of the Worse ‘Walkable Urban' Cities: Study

For the next three days, smart people from all over the world are in Dallas for the New Cities Summit, chatting at the Winspear Opera House about how to, ya know, transform the 21st-century metropolis. You can follow along here as The Dallas Morning News livestreams the sessions about building a better tomorrow … and making it easier to get there, even if that involves tearing down a highway.

Which means, if nothing else, this is certainly fortuitous timing: The Center for Real Estate and Urban Analysis at George Washington University School of Business, in conjunction with SmartGrowth America, released a report this morning that says Dallas isn’t a very walkable urban place. Which will shock precisely no one.
