The Dallas Police Department is investigating the death of a man who drowned at a Dallas-area apartment pool Friday night.
Police were called to the Summerwood Cove Apartments on July 31 regarding a person in danger.
Wiitnesses told police 38-year-old Mekiyel Tenyatta had been swimming in the pool and never resurfaced.
A witness pulled Tenyatta from the bottom of the apartment swimming pool after realizing he had been underwater for an extended period of time, then performed CPR until authorities arrived.
Dallas Fire-Rescue transported Tenyatta to Medical City Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The amount of time Tenyatta was underwater is currently unknown. Police are checking to see if he was a resident of the Summerwood Cove apartments.
