Dallas Fire-Rescue Engine Involved in Accident

A Dallas Fire-Rescue engine was involved in an accident on Monday afternoon. DFR spokesman Jason Evans said the accident involved Engine 46 and happened in front of the fire station.

From Chopper 5 you could see a small white sedan with front end damage. The fire engine was responding to a different accident when the crash happened.

Evans said the fire engine was blocking westbound traffic on Camp Wisdom Road, waiting for the lanes to clear, when the accident happened. According to Evans, the driver of the white car was traveling at a high rate of speed and hit the side of the fire engine.

There appeared to be only minor damage to the fire truck and several firefighters were standing around the vehicle. The driver of the white car was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The fire station is located at 331 East Camp Wisdom Road.
