A Dallas couple has pleaded guilty to sex trafficking of a child in a case involving a 14-year-old girl who authorities say was sold for sex.
Erin Patton, 24, pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court to conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of children. Her boyfriend, 24-year-old Keith Williams, pleaded guilty in February to a similar charge.
Prosecutors say the 14-year-old ran away from home in 2012 and met Patton, who directed her toward prostitution and drove the girl to meet with men. The girl gave Patton a portion of the money she received.
The child would return home for a few months but then contact Patton to pick her up. Patton and Williams would then facilitate her work as a prostitute by advertising her and driving the child to meet men.
Patton has not yet been sentenced.
