Dallas County Prosecutor Arrested For DWI

Dallas police said they arrested a prosecutor for Dallas County and charged him with driving while intoxicated early Sunday.

Officers arrested 28-year-old Justin Moore during a traffic stop in the 4200 block of U.S. 67 at about 2:45 a.m., authorities said. Moore was booked into Lew Sterrett Jail and has since been released on bond.

Former Dallas County assistant District Attorney Russell Wilson said Moore is a rookie prosecutor who had been with the district attorney's office for less than a year. Wilson said the arrest puts a black eye on the office.

"We have had a number of elected officials who have faced charges, and who are able to remain in office," Wilson said. "I think in that position, if you receive a charge of a DWI, it can be fatal to your employment."

Newly-elected District Attorney Susan Hawk said Moore was suspended without pay and that she will review the arrest before making a final decision.
