A Dallas-area doctor has been accused in a $5 million fraud scheme involving medical house calls allegedly made by an unqualified employee.
Prosecutors say Dr. Hector Molina of Irving and Blanca Mata of Forney were charged Friday with conspiracy to commit health care fraud and health care fraud.
Investigators say the physician operated Molina Medical Housecall Services in Dallas. Mata was an employee but is not a doctor.
The indictment says the pair since 2012 conspired to defraud Medicare by billing for home visits by Mata, but listed as done by Molina. The physician also allegedly billed for home visits in the Dallas area when he was out of the country.
Information wasn't immediately available on attorneys for Molina and Mata. Messages left with medical offices weren't immediately returned Saturday.
