Dallas ATM Customer Shot During Robbery

Police are looking for two people who shot and robbed a man who was using an ATM early Wednesday in Oak Cliff.

Surveillance pictures released by Dallas police show the victim outside his car getting money from the ATM at the Chase Bank along South Polk Street. A man then approaches him with a gun demanding money. The victim hands over the cash.

The victim then got inside his car and started to drive off, but that's when a second man approached his car and started shooting inside the passenger side window, hitting the victim in the knee.

"That goes to show you can't be too careful out here," said bank customer Burnett Johnson. "Usually when I'm driving up here, if someone is hanging around, I don't even stop."

The victim drove himself to a nearby parking lot and called 911. He was then taken to the hospital where police say his condition is stable.

"I'm glad to know that," said Johnson. "I'll be on the lookout from now on because people work hard for their money and they want nobody taking it from them."

Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest and indictment related to this case.
