FORT WORTH CASHIER TO THIEF: "SHOOT ME OR LEAVE:" Fort Worth police are looking for a thief who ran up against an uncooperative convenience store clerk in a robbery attempt.  Police spokesman Lt. Paul Henderson said the man walked into a 7-Eleven in west Fort Worth at about 3:20 a.m. Monday and demanded cash from the clerk's register. According to Henderson, the clerk answered, "No. Either shoot me or leave my store." (AP)

THIEVES' GETAWAY VEHICLE DOESN'T FIT THE PATTERN: Two women stole a wallet from an 83-year-old Benbrook woman Saturday afternoon at Hancock Fabrics and then jumped into a white Mercedes sport utility vehicle. (Star Telegram)

DALLAS POLICE INVESTIGATE DEADLY KIDNAPPING: Dallas police say they are investigating the death of a 27-year-old who was found dead in the 6600 block of Coleshire on Tuesday morning. Police said they believe a group of men forced the victim to leave his home at about 3 a.m. Several minutes later, they received a call about shots fired, and a resident discovered the man's body when she took out her trash at about 6 a.m. Police said the shooting could be drug-related. DALLAS MEN SENTENCED IN SMITH COUNTY DRUG STOP: Two Dallas men have been sentenced to federal prison for drug violations. Francisco Javier Figueroa, 39, pleaded guilty on April 2 to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 5 kilograms of cocaine and was sentenced Tuesday to 108 months in federal prison. Fabian Arthur Gonzales, Jr., 29, pleaded guilty on March 27 to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 5 kilograms of cocaine and was sentenced Tuesday to 188 months in federal prison. During a traffic stop on Highway 271 in February, officers with the Smith County Sheriff's Office said they discovered 8 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a built-in compartment in the vehicle.  (U.S. Dept. of Justice)
