DPD Makes Arrest in “Ambush Shooting” Outside Store

Dallas police say they arrested a man in connection with a shooting outside a Pleasant Grove convenience store Wednesday night.

The shooting happened around 9:45 p.m. at Alone Gas Stations and the Circle M Convenience Store on Scyene Road and St. Augustine Drive.

According to police, 21-year-old Barry Johnson was leaving the store and getting into his black Ford Ranger pick-up truck when a man walked up behind him and began firing.

Johnson suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died from his injuries.

Dallas police say they identified a suspect through fingerprints left at the scene.

19-year-old David Wright was arrested by Dallas police. He's being held in the Dallas County Jail on a murder charge and according to the jail website, his bond has been set at $500,000.
