DPD Investigates Officer-Involved Shooting

Dallas police are investigating an officer-involved shooting early Saturday morning.

It happened just before 2 a.m. in an Office Depot parking lot in the 2900 block of Oak Lawn Avenue.

Dallas police say officers were patrolling the area after several reports of car burglaries and saw two men breaking into a car and heard a witness yelling for help.

One of the officers approached the two men and according police one of the men pointed a gun at him, fearing for his life the officer shot the man in the stomach.

The injured man was taken to Parkland Hospital and is listed in critical condition. The other car burglar got away and police are still searching for him.
