DISD, Police Fight School Bullies

Community leaders are teaming up with the Dallas Police Department to stop an end of the school year tradition -- bullying.

This is the third year for the annual stop the violence program.

A zero tolerance policy is in effect and anyone caught bullying another student, or fighting, will be arrested.

Those over 17 will go to jail and those under 17 will go to a juvenile detention center.

Last year, the program resulted in only one fight being reported across all Dallas ISD campuses.

Organizers hope to bring that number down to zero this year.
