Amazon Prime Day 2018 started on July 16 at 3 p.m. ET, although an outage brought error messages to some shoppers.
Many people logged on and saw an error page asking customers to go back and try again.
We asked Amazon what was going on and the retailer released this statement: “Some customers are having difficulty shopping, and we’re working to resolve this issue quickly. Many are shopping successfully – in the first hour of Prime Day in the U.S., customers have ordered more items compared to the first hour last year. There are hundreds of thousands of deals to come and more than 34 hours to shop Prime Day.” [[488332531,C]]
For those of you who aren't having problems, today is said to be Christmas in July as retailers are pulling out all of the stops to win your business on prime day.
Ebay is hawking deals of up to 60 percent off electronics.
Kmart taking 60 percent off clothing and shoes.
Target offering 30 percent off its home brands and 25% off beauty and personal care.
