Crash Closes Westbound Lanes of Highway 183

Westbound lanes of 183 reopened at 5:30 a.m.

Police say a man drove his car off state Highway 183, flipped and ended up in a Best Western Hotel parking lot in North Richland Hills around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said the man was driving an Infiniti G35 west near Precinct Line Road and 183 when he went off the road and flipped. Debris was scattered over a half-mile area along the service road and the highway.

Two women inside the car were taken by helicopter to local area hospitals where their injuries are considered grave, police said.

The driver, 26-year-old Frederick Douglas, was uninjured.

Douglas was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated and later arraigned on two counts of intoxication assault with vehicle, bodily injury.  He is being held on $150,000 bond.

The highway and service road have both been reopened.
