Cowboys Preparing for a Raucous Superdome

The Cowboys have been pumping loud music into practice this week to get ready for New Orleans

The Mercedes-Benz Superdome isn’t quite the scary road test it once was, not too long ago--they're actually winless in their last six games at home--but the Cowboys are preparing for it to get loud on Sunday night.

According to Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas, the Cowboys have been pumping loud music into their practices this week, something that he notes isn’t at all unusual for the team. But this week it becomes a potentially more important element, with the team set to face an 0-3 Saints team desperate for a win and a homecrowd in New Orleans desperate for something to cheer about.

“It’s hard to simulate it,” said quarterback Brandon Weeden. “From what I hear it gets pretty loud there. Just got to rely on the assignment, rely on the communication and got to be on point with the communication. That’s first and foremost. And if you’re changing plays, whatever it may be, you better be clear.”

Cowboys center Travis Frederick doesn’t see the noise being an issue.

“The only time I really think about the noise is when I run out for the first time and you hear it,” Frederick said. “But after that you’re so focused on the game that it really has nothing to do with what you’re doing. You just have to figure out how to work around it. You do it all week in practice and then it becomes second nature during the game.”
