Construction of Toyota's new North American headquarters in Plano is about to begin.
The new headquarters will be built on a 100-acre campus between Headquarters Drive and Texas 121 and will bring 4,000 jobs to the area.
Many of those will be filled with employees transferring from their current headquarters in California.
"The momentum from having an organization this scope come to Plano from the recognition stand point, No. 1, and just the ripple effect of vendors and people who want to be close to it has been felt not only from a business stand point, but from a residential stand point as well," said Plano Mayor Harry LaRosiliere.
The new headquarters is scheduled to open in late 2016.
