Concerning Letter Goes Home to Fort Worth ISD Parents

The principal at Charles E. Nash Elementary sent home a letter to parents Tuesday about a situation that happened at the school, but the district is not giving any details about the incident.

The letter from Nash Elementary principal Blanca Galindo, which can be read in its entirety at the bottom of this article reads, in part:

โ€œWe recently experienced an on-campus event involving an individual childโ€™s welfare. Please understand that I am constrained by law in what I can tell you about this matter. However, I can tell you that the matter was dealt with swiftly and appropriately.โ€

Parents told NBC 5 those vague details do little to squash the rumors that are circulating campus.

โ€œIt leaves a lot of unanswered questions,โ€œ said parent Shantelle Burns. โ€œJust to get a vague letter like this not telling us what happened, itโ€™s not really good for a parent to receive a letter like this not knowing anything at all or how to protect our own children.โ€

โ€œI think the school should get on the phone and start calling when stuff like this happens,โ€ said grandmother Patricia Locke. โ€œGet on the phone and start calling.โ€

Fort Worth ISD spokesman Clint Bond said federal privacy laws prevent the district from releasing more information.

A spokesperson for Fort Worth Police said at this time officers are not investigating any criminal matter at Nash Elementary.
