Community Vigil Held for Victims of Plano Mass Shooting

Dozens of people gathered Wednesday in Plano to remember the eight victims of a mass shooting there earlier this month.

Families and friends of some of the victims were in tears during Wednesday's vigil, which was organized by the city of Plano and the Junior League of Collin County.

"It's completely heartbreaking. It has been on my mind and my heart this entire week," said Claire Groves, a Plano mother of three.

Members of the community, along with domestic violence organizations, were invited pay respects to the victims and unite against domestic violence.

The shooting victims were at a home on West Spring Parkway when a gunman opened fire Sunday, Sept 10.

Police say the suspected gunman was Spencer Hight, who was in the middle of a divorce from one of the victims, Meredith Hight.

Officers shot and killed Spencer Hight when they showed up on-scene.

One shooting victim survived and remains hospitalized.
