“Cheese” Fears Return After Two Students Die in January

Dallas public schools have rising concerns after two students died from overdoses of "Cheese" heroin in January.

"Cheese," made from black tar heroin and cold medicine has been linked to 10 deaths in 2007, though that number fell to only four victims in 2008.

Dallas ISD Police have made extra efforts to combat the distribution of the drug, assigning a specific officer to hunt down heroin in the schools. Currently, though, that position is unfilled, according to the Dallas Morning News.
