Chase Crawford Appears in Court on Drug Charges

Actor Chace Crawford appeared in a Collin County courtroom Thursday morning to face drug possession charges.

Christopher "Chace" Crawford, 24, was picked up by Plano police early last month for possession of marijuana. The star of CW's "Gossip Girl" was sitting in a parked 2003 Nissan near Legacy and the Dallas North Tollway.

He had less than two ounces of the drug, police said, so he's only charged with a misdemeanor. If convicted, he could face up to six months in jail.

The Hollywood heartthrob was named People Magazine's hottest bachelor last summer. He grew up in the Dallas area and visits regularly.  He was spotted out and about most recently with Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Tony Romo at Six Flags Over Texas.

According to his bio, Crawford graduated from Trinity Christian Academy in Addison, but now calls Manhattan home.

Thursday's court appearance was just a formality for a judge to officially announce the charges. The next court date for Crawford is Aug. 20.
