Cessna Makes Hard Landing at Alliance Airport

No injuries reported in hard landing

The Fort Worth Fire Department responded to an Alert 3 at Alliance Airport Thursday afternoon.

An Alert 3 indicates a crash that could be either minor or major.

According to Lynn Lunsford with the Federal Aviation Administration, a single-engine Cessna 172 reported engine trouble and made a hard landing at the airport.

The Fort Worth Fire Department said there were two people on board and that neither were injured. MedStar said they received a call to the airport at 2:24 p.m. and the call was canceled at 2:32 p.m. while they were headed to the scene.

Mercedes Bolen with Alliance Airport said the Cessna was a training aircraft with two people on board and that the runway was only closed for 15 minutes.

Fort Worth police said the plane was in one piece, but had to be towed to a ramp area to be checked by a mechanic.

The FAA said the runway has been reopened.
